DECIPHER THIS PERPLEXING PUZZLE AND WIN A PRIZE THE TRIPLE BYPASS We are in the middle of an obesity epidemic. Children have never been fatter. Why is that? GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS The GOOD news is that FIFTEEN percent of adults between the ages of 20 and 40 have HEALTHY hearts. The other 85 percent have severe atherosclerosis, and most are not even aware of it. (New England Journal of Medicine, 1998, Volume 338, page 1650). The good news is that twenty-five percent of children attending kindergarten through eighth grades do not have clinical signs of heart disease. (American Journal of Medical Science, 1995, Volume 310, page 22). The other seventy-five percent are very sick little boys and girls. They will grow up to become even sicker adults. Their parents are more than just clueless. Their parents are to blame. CAN YOU FIGURE THIS ONE OUT? A newly published report reveals that retail sales of butter increased thirty-two percent from 1999 to 2000. DAIRY PROPAGANDA CONTINUES The spokesperson let it be known that the consumption of increased amounts of animal fat is a positive dietary change for consumers. Meg Hargreaves said: "Americans are coming out of the 'fear of fat' trend of the late 90's and have come to see that fat is a necessary part of a healthy diet." For your review. The entire amazing press release: http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/020311/nym124_1.html COULD DIET BE A CLUE? In 1970, the average American ate ten pounds of fat-filled cheese. This delicious food is actually concentrated milk (ten pounds of milk are required to produce one pound of hard cheese). Cheese is saturated with substances that may not do the heart any good. Things like cholesterol and enormous amounts of animal fat. In 2002, the average American will eat 31 pounds of cheese. The United States Department of Agriculture, whose role it is to promote agriculture products, conducts conferences relating to America's obesity epidemic. Guess who is not invited to speak? (Hint: he writes a daily NOTMILK column). The increased amounts of concentrated dairy products, cheese, butter, and ice cream are at the very heart of American's cardiovascular problems. The solution? A triple bypass. BYPASS dairy-sponsored propaganda. That includes milk mustache ads and magazines dispensing such healthy advice. Cancel your subscriptions, and let the editors know why. BYPASS the advice of those who would market these dangerous products to you and your kids. That includes your doctors, who have little or no training in nutrition. After you find a new physician, let your ex-so-called healer know the reason he or she was replaced. BYPASS the dairy section of your supermarket. Have you deciphered the puzzle yet? If so, you've won the best prize in the world. There is nothing that can replace good health. Once you lose it, no amount of money can buy it back. __________________________________________________ Robert Cohen author of: MILK A-Z Executive Director (notmilkman@notmilk.com) Dairy Education Board http://www.notmilk.com This file: http://www.notmilk.com/forum/851.txt Do you know of a friend or family member with one or more of these milk-related problems?
